Formula Used for 7th Pay Commission Salary
The commission used the Dr. Aykroyd Formula (also called Need-Based Minimum Wage). It calculates minimum wage based on:
- Net intake of 2700 calories per day (food requirements).
- Clothing, housing, education, medical, and other essentials.
- Labour factor (job demands) and time factor.
This ensures the minimum wage covers basic family needs adjusted for inflation.
Note: The same Dr. Aykroyd Formula is expected to be used in the upcoming 8th Pay Commission as well. Check your projected salary under the new pay structure with our 8th Pay Commission Salary Calculator..
